Given that this is the blog about the Klaich (Kljaić) family history, I thought it was
about time that I actually reported on the Klaich family records that we found
in the
Austro-Hungarian military records. Overall we found 54 records on a total of 39 people named
Klaich (We had a several people with 2 records and a handful with 3 records).
The majority of those people (22 out of 39) lived in Kurjak
(Plocha/Ploća was in second
place with 11 people). I list these
individuals name by address because the extended household unit was the center of thesocio-economic structure in the region and
because the families were not allowed to sell their property. As a result, the people located at the same
address are likely related (brothers, fathers/sons, etc.).
