I found the Lavernich surname on several of the Komic grave markers fascinating because my maternal grandmother's second husband (my STEP grandfather) was Milanko Lavernich, who was born sometime between 1880 and 1887 at Komic to Eli and Sava Lavernich of Komic. Milanko died at Vancouver, B.C. in 1966. My maternal grandparents were both born at Mekinjar, less than a 12 mile drive from Komic, and died at Vancouver, B.C.
